Cbank promises to reduce rapid payment system fee for supermarkets
MOSCOW, Jul 25 (PRIME) -- The Russian central bank will set a 0.4% commission in the rapid payment system for stores selling clothes, house equipment and supermarkets, much lower than the current acquiring tariffs, a spokesperson for the authority told PRIME on Thursday.
“The tariff range, the final version of which will soon be presented by the central bank soon, ensures a sufficient reduction of tariffs for trade and service enterprises in various categories, as compared with acquiring,” the official said.
“For instance, in the category of apparel and house equipment, the current acquiring commission stands at 1–2.5%, in the category of supermarkets 0.5–1.5%, while in the rapid payment system the commission will stand at 0.4%.”
A nation-wide system of QR-code payment for goods is to be tested on August 30 and launched until January.
Tinkoff Bank, Promsvyazbank, Rosbank, SKB-Bank, Gazprombank, Alfa-Bank, AK BARS Bank, Raiffeisenbank, Sovcombank, and the payment services Qiwi and Golden Crown, joined the system. Russia’s biggest bank Sberbank, which has own payment system, is thinking about joining the central bank’s one.
